About me

My Philosophy

My mission as a birth doula is to provide mothers and their families with emotional, physical and informational support while aiding in their quest for a beautiful birthing experience. I believe all women should have the support and tools to feel empowered to make her own choices in fulfilling her desires for her birth!

I believe in the power of a woman's body and its ability to birth naturally. I will wholeheartedly support a woman in any decision she makes in order to acheive her ideal birthing experience.

It is my greatest honor to be included in such a momentous occasion as the birth of your wonderful child as well as be a part of your amazing journey!

Meet Lauren

My name is Lauren Pietrowski and I was born and raised in Baltimore, MD. In 2006, I married my wonderful husband and we welcomed 2 amazing sons in 2008 and 2011! After years of moving we have finally settled in Pylesville, Maryland.

I attended Eastern Technical High School with a focus in Allied Health. Thereafter, I attended Medix School in Towson, MD receiving my certifications as a Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy Technician. I graduated Alpha Beta Kappa with a GPA of 4.0. After graduation I moved to Nashua, NH and worked in an OB/GYN practice with the Nurse Practioner and teaching new OB patients prenatal guidelines for 2 years. In 2006, I graduated from Ashworth University with my Associate's Degree is Healthcare Management. I also began working in Family Practice in 2006 and continued for the next 5 years. I realized in this timeframe that I always missed my niche in OB/GYN. In 2012, I completed my training as a Birth Doula through DONA. It is now that I have found a path that truly is both rewarding and fulfilling! I am very passionate about caring for women in childbirth and invested in improving the world of Women's Health. I thoroughly enjoy supporting women in every birth scenario including natural, waterbirth, VBAC, inductions, cesareans, etc. I find each journey so different and amazing! In September 2015, I embarked on a new journey when I enrolled in the Massachusetts Midwives Alliance program to become a midwife. I am encouraged by the expanded knowledge and care this provides for all of the families I serve.

In addition to my private birth work, I serve as the Program Coordinator for Pettaway Pursuit Foundation, Doula By My Side program and serve as the board secretary for the PA Doula Commission.

In my "free time" I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, cooking, spending time at the bay and enjoying the events of all 4 seasons! I am always eager to meet new people and share in new experiences!
